回了国就想着读一些中文的书了（实际上之前也没有在读什么非中文的书），前几天便买了本胡适的讲演录，寻思着讲演应该是简短可读，比较适合我的了。
随便看了少年中国之精神，果然是短短的很合我心意，且发现其言论极具鼓动能力，至少对我而言。尤其结尾那一句是非常适合在消极的时刻用来煽动自己的，毕竟在已经不是少年的时候，仍然是需要一些锋芒的。
另外，很是喜欢扉页上他的“容忍比自由更重要”的那一句。
没注意之间，Microsoft 一股劲儿的推出了一堆 ideas 等着你去测试， live mail还是那么的慢，不过 Live Custom Domains 倒是蛮好的主意，配合 hotmail 可以为你的域名提供40个2GB的邮箱，省掉了那些小型 hosting 公司服务不稳定的麻烦，又能为 passport 增加一堆用户群。另外关注一下Live Expo，毕竟和自己的工作多少有点关系。至于 Live.com 本身，那样的 ajax 应用和信息聚合显然已经不新鲜了。
Sometimes you just need a quick look at a file, but if your layered file is 200 MB, 300 MB, etc. in total size, it’s not going to be a quick look. That is, unless you know this little trick that lets you open a flattened version of that very same file, which will be dramatically smaller in file size (which means it will open much faster). Just hold Shift-Option (PC: Shift-Alt) before you open the file and it will bring up a dialog asking you if you want to open just “the composite data.” Click OK and a flattened version will open instead (leaving your layered version untouched).
When using this feature, be careful to start with a 300 dpi scan or higher. If you start with a 72 dpi scan, and choose 133 line with Best quality, it’ll jump you up to 266 ppi; but it doesn’t warn you that your image will look so pixelated when printed that it will trash your whole project, because you can’t add resolution that’s not really there to begin with.
